ATTEMPT TO KILL ALLEGED
Woman Charged At Ipswich
IPSWICH, May 31. — Fanny Nairn, 46, housewife, was charged before Mr. W. Rillie, P.M., in the Police Court this morning, with having, on May 26 at Ipswich, attempted to kill Alfred James Nairn. Detective Constable M. J. MacDonald said that on May 26 he had a conversation with Mrs. Nairn at the home of Mrs. Cullum, in Gibbons Street, Booval. Following another conversation at Mrs. Nairn's home on Tuesday she accompanied him to Mrs. Cullum's place, where he pointed out several things to her. Later he arrested her on a charge of attempted unlawful killing. She made no reply when arrested. Mrs. Nairn was remanded until June 7. Mr. J. Casey (for Mrs. Nairn) asked for bail. The Prosecutor (Senior Sergeant James) raised no objection, but asked for reasonably substantial bail. Bail was allowed, self in £100, with one surety of £100.
