When the passenger list is not complete, it may be because the transcriber is having difficulty with the text or the information available is of a poor quallity.
Some lists were made up after the originals were lost due to flooding.

There were five DAVIS boys on this ship and although the land grants were sequential in number the author has been unable to find any genealogical connection to Edwin and William

The ship Southern Ocean arrived in Moreton Bay on Thursday, from Portsmouth, with immigrants. She reports all well.

WEEKLY EPITOME. (1866, June 2). The Brisbane Courier (Qld. : 1864 - 1933), p. 5. TROVE

The Southern Ocean arrived from London on Friday, after a run of 102 days, with 470 passengers, who appear in good health.

THE DARLING DOWNS ANNUAL RACES. (1866, June 5). The Darling Downs Gazette and General Advertiser (Toowoomba, Qld. : 1858 - 1880), p. 3. TROVE

THE immigrants of the Southern Ocean gave vent to their excited feelings on landing in a very demonstrative manner in the depot on Monday night. Several of the men, and two of the females, came to blows, and the confusion became so great that the police were called in, when quiet was restored. Some very pleasing traits of conjugal affection were also displayed-the married men strongly objected to being separated from their wives.

TELEGRAPHIC. (1866, June 6). The Brisbane Courier (Qld. : 1864 - 1933), p. 2. TROVE

Edwin DAVIS (20) probably died 5/9/1876 aged 32 of Gangrene of the lungs in Rockhampton and his father was recorded as John DAVIS and mother unknown.
