MONTALBION, June 27.
John Davis, at Irvinebank, was remanded for eight days on a charge of rape on Florrie Kuszer, aged about 17, at Montalbion.

Narrative

Florrie KUSZER was born Florence Amelia DINES Thursday, 4 March 1880 and after her father Edward was drowned in 1886 when the lugger Arthur capsized her mother married Henri KUSZNER in 1887 and Florence died Wednesday, 30 October 1901

In 1898 there were only two people named John DAVIS in Irvinebank, John Edwin William who was then 19 years old, and his uncle, John Edwin, who was 62 years old.

Five months after this notice appeared in the newspaper, his illegitimate son, Harold Edward Davis ROGERS, would be born to his future sister-in-law, Sarah Eliza ROGERS

MR. JOHN DAVIS.

On Monday evening the death occurred in Cairns of Mr. John Davis, of Lake Street, a well-known citizen of Cairns. Deceased, who was forty-five years, of age, was a member, of the Cairns branch of the Waterside Workers' Federation. He leaves a wife and two sons to mourn their loss.

The funeral, which took place on Tuesday afternoon, at 3 o'clock, was largely attended, the cortège leaving the residence, 311 Lake, Street, for the Cairns cemetery, Martyn Street. The Rev. D, Gillman officiated at the graveside.

Included in the list of wreaths were the following:- Teachers, scholars, St. Andrew's Sunday School, Mother Primrose Ernest, Phoebes' class mates, Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Davis and family, Wilkinson Bros., Mr. Lowcock, Cairns Railway Band, Mr. and Mrs. D. I. Culhane and family, employees Burns Philp and Co.
