William WILKS
There passed away in Cairns early on Thursday afternoon Mr. Charles Felix Holmes, an old identity of Cooktown. Deceased was highly respected and has done much pioneering work in that district. The late Mr. Holmes was 66 years of age and a Queenslander by birth. His wife predeceased him in 1920. He leaves a grown up family to mourn his sad loss. Mr. A. F. Holmes (81 Martyn-street), Mr. G. Holmes (Walsh) are sons and Mrs. C. J. Duffin (Innisfail), Mrs. D. G. Hall and Miss Bessie Holmes, Thursday Island, are daughters. The funeral will move from the residence of his son. Mr. A. F. Holmes, 81 Digger-street, at 4.30 o'clock this afternoon.
