Miss Sarah Batten, the fourth daughter of Mr. Charles Batten, was on Monday 25th, united in the holy bonds of wedlock to Mr. Thomas Bradbury (nephew of the State School teacher of your town) by the Rev. Mr. Smith of Southport. The interesting ceremony took place at the bride's parents residence, before a large concourse of friends. Miss Batten and Miss Castles acted as bridesmaids. About 60 sat down at the wadding breakfast, and Mr. Castles proposed the toast of the "Bride and Bridegroom" in his usual humorous way, and which was duly responded to. The toast of the 'Host and Hostess' was also proposed and duly honoured. The presents were both numerous and costly. The happy couple departed by the afternoon train for their future home O'Connelltown, Brisbane amidst showers of rice and the good wishes of those present. We wish them all kinds of happiness. Other marriages are on the tapis.
