We regret to have to record the death of Mr. Henry Biggs, an old and highly respected resident of Brisbane, who died at 8 o'clock on Sunday evening from blood poisoning. Mr. Biggs had been under treatment for some time. He was a native of London, and arrived in the colonies when a boy, about thirty-five years ago. For a long time he was connected with the early Ipswich trade, and was well known in connection with Captains Burns and West in those days. Afterwards Mr. Biggs occupied the old Steam Packet Hotel in Brisbane for many years. After a prolonged visit to the old country with his family Mr. Biggs became licensee of the Oxford Hotel, Queen-street, but retired from business some time ago. He was largely interested in Southport properties. The deceased gentleman leaves a widow and nine children. His funeral takes place this morning from his residence in Stanley-street.
