AT THE GRAVESIDE.
The funeral at Mr R. Jordan at 2 p.m. on Saturday was very largely attended, men from the mine walking in front, and then there was a very lengthy procession of vehicles and horsemen. The burial service was conducted by Archdeacon Garland. Mr Jordan leaves two, children, aged 15 and 4½ years respectively, and not one as stated yesterday.
There was a large attendance of comrades and friends at Mr John Russell's funeral, which joined the late Mr Nixon's at the Park Hotel. The Rev. A Hutchison officiated at the graveside. The burial service in the latter case was read by Archdeacon Garland. The funeral of the brothers Mitchell, took place in the morning, and very many attended to pay their last tribute of respect. The Rev. A. Hutchison conducted the burial service, and Mr H. H. Moore read the Manchester Unity Oddfellows' service. As was the case at Messrs. Nixon and Russell's funerals, the processions were a mile long.

We observe an announcement in the Brisbane Telegraph of the death of Mr. Thomas Bnrstall. Mr. Burstall was formerly Town Surveyor of Rockhampton, and deserved better treatment at the hands of the Municipal Council of his day than he received. The main drain, breakwater, the wharf approaches, and the first plans of the water works were designed by him — the latter certainly not having been improved upon by the existing arrangements. It is not necessary to recur at length to the circumstances which led to the severance of Mr. Burstall's connection with the Council, but we believe many of our best citizens and ex-aldermen will endorse the opinion that the Council had in that gentleman an able professional man, and a faithful and energetic servant. The town may legitimately express regret that the 'old Town Surveyor' has passed to the silent majority.
