MRS. DAVID DAY.

Another very old resident of the Logan district passed quietly away last Saturday in the person of Mrs. David Day of Woodhill. Deceased was 68 years of age and had been in failing health for about three months, so that her death was not altogether unexpected. She was born in Hampshire, England, in 1850, and came to Brisbane in 1852 in the Ship Gritla being then only an infant. She came up to Woodhill 47 years ago where she settled with her husband, and was highly respected by all who knew her. She had 12 children, four of whom died young, of the eight living four are daughters and four sons, all grown up.
Her husband survives her. The funeral took place at the Woodhill Cemetery on Monday and was attended by a very large number of relatives and friends from all parts of the district. The service at the grave side was conducted by the Rev, C. M. P. Heath.
