We regret very much to have to record the sudden death of our very old and respected citizen, Mr. W. Mycock. It appears that Mr. Mycock was driving out to Dodah yesterday morning, but was taken seriously ill on the road, and got out of the vehicle at Mr. H. F. Parker's residence. After a rest be managed to return home, where he became gradually worse. He passed into a state of unconsciousness at 2 p.m., and died at 4 30 p.m. Mr. Mycock came out to Brisbane in the ship Golden Empire in 1862, and shortly afterwards settled In Maryborough, where, with the exception of a trip home in 1871, he had lived ever since, being intimately connected all the time with the butchering business. In the early days he was with the Yengarie Meat Extract Company, but for many years past had been conducting a business of his own at the corner or March and Ellena streets. The late Mr. Mycock took no prominent part lo public affairs, but was always a good and industrious citizen, to whose credit must be placed many acts of kindness to the poor and needy. He leaves a wife and a large family of grown-up sons and daughters to mourn their loss.
