In St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (Creek-street), on October 9, the marriage was solemnised of Mr. John Taylor Brodie (eldest son of Mr. A. D. Brodie and of the late Mrs. Brodie, Cremorne, (Sydney) to Miss Essie Vilele Byers (youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Byers, Hughenden, North Queensland). Rev. Norman Millar officiated and Mr. Dalley-Scarlett presided at the organ. The bride who was given away by her brother-in-law (Mr. T. Levingston), wore a frock of floral parchment georgette, made with a softly draped bodice, and finished with a petal hem. Her toilette was completed with a hip coat, a feather trimmed bowler hat of cream straw, and a sheaf of sun-burst roses. Miss Susie Levingston, who attended as bridesmaid, was frocked in delphinium blue mariette, made on long lines, and worn with a bolero coat. Her large crinoline hat was trimmed with pale pink roses, and she carried a shower bouquet of pink carnations. Mr. Frank Byers Levingston was best man. Subsequently a reception was held at Lennon's Hotel, where the hostess was Mrs. T. Levingston (sister of the bride), who was gowned in black mariette relieved with white, and worn with a short black marlette coat. Her black cellophane straw hat was relieved with a white feather, and she carried a posy of red roses

GANE.-Died on the 3rd March, at his Niece and Nephew's (Mr. and Mrs. J. Bowers) residence, at Mantaka, Edward George Gane, of Oaklands, after a very long and painful illness.
