River View, Dululu, the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. Gormley, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Wednesday, May 10, when Susan, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gormley, was married to Frank, youngest son of the late Mr. C. Bond and Mrs. Bond of Wilney Station, Wura. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Dolan.
The bride wore a gown of heavy silk georgette, made fully flared and ankle length, and trimmed with angel skin lace and completed with a coatee. She also wore a lily of the valley embroidered silk tulle veil with a coronet of orange blossoms.
The bridesmaid, Miss Eileen Bond, niece of the bridegroom, was daintily frocked in rose dawn silk marocain, worn ankle-length. Her head dress was of pink tulle. The bride and the bridesmaid both carried exquisite bouquets of roses, asters and ferns.
After the ceremony the bridal party motored to Mt. Morgan where they were photographed. The wedding breakfast was held in the Dululu School of Arts, which was prettily decorated with pink and white streamers.
About 80 guests were received by the bride's mother, who wore a floral marocain frock trimmed with two-toned crcpe-de-Chine. A huge wedding bell was suspended over the bridal couple. The usual toasts were honoured and dancing and games were afterwards indulged in until a late hour. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a crystal necklet and to the bridesmaid a gold bangle, and the bride presented the bridegroom with a leather wallet.
The bride's travelling dress was of chocolate silk marocain trimmed with beige and hat to tone.
The honeymoon is being spent at Wondai.
