MR. ARTHUR FLACK.
The death of Mr. Arthur Flack on Wednesday, April 26, removed one of the old residents of Roma. He was born at Chelsea, Middlesex, England, in 1855. As a young man, he enlisted in the 21st Lancers. After serving his time, Mr. Flack came to Queensland nearly 60 years ago. He worked on Jimbour for some time. Later he went to the Taroom district. On coming to Roma he painted the first Post and Telegraph Office, also did painting contracts on the western line. He was a portrait painter of no mean ability and many of his paintings are in the Masonic Lodges at Roma. He was an Oddfellow for many years, also a prominent Mason for fifty years. Mr. Flack held the position of Supreme Court bailiff for a similar period. He was a member of the Church of England choir. Mrs. Flack survives. There is one son, Mr. Harry Flack. There are five daughters, Mrs. Geo. Brown (Roma), Mrs. W. Brinin (Roma), Mrs. F. Lee (Mitchell), Mrs. H. Timms (Mt. Edwards), Mrs. A. Symes (Mitchell), Mrs. Thos. Lenihan (Roma). There are also fifty grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral on Thursday from St. Paul's Church (where a most impressive choral service was rendered), was a large and representative one. Rev. Canon Eva officiated at the graveside.

S-FLACK.-A quiet wedding was solemnized by the Rev. A. E. Henry, at St. Paul's Church of England, Roma, on October 23, between Mr. Arthur A. Syines, son of Mr. and Mrs. Symes, of Mitchell, and Miss Louisa Flack, fifth daughter of Mr. A. Flack, Roma. The bride, who was given away, by her father, looked charming in a dress of cream satin charmeuse, trimmed with tosca net embroidery, pearl insertion, and finished with pearl buckles, and orange blossoms. She also wore a beautiful wreath and veil, and carried a bouquet, which completed a most becoming costume. She was attended by two bridesmaids, her sister, Miss Isabel Flack, wearing heliotrope silk trimmed with net ruchings, and Miss Mabel Harland, a becoming, dress of pale blue saxe silk, trimmed with net ruchings. Both wore gold brooches, with the initials of bride and bridegroom inlaid in pearls, and carried bouquets of sweet peas, carnations and ferns. The bride groom was attended by Mr. H. Flack as best man. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold chain and pendant, set in pearls and garnets. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a gold tie clip with rubies and pearls. The wedding breakfast was served at "Dalkeith," the residence of the bride's brother. The bride's travelling dress was of blue silk poplin, trimmed with Bulgarian silk, and hat to match.
