Mr. J. Theaker.

THE death occurred on August 9 of Mr. Jas. Theaker, a well-known resident of the Mutdapilly district. Mr. Theaker, who would have been 86 in two days' time, was a native of Yorkshire, England, and came to Queensland at the age of 19 years. He came to Mutdapilly 65 years ago, and, with the exception of a short time spent at Gympie, when gold was first discovered, had resided there ever since. For over 60 years he had been engaged in farming and grazing, and was at one time a well-known breeder of blood and draught horses. His wife predeceased him in January last. He leaves seven sons-Messrs. T. F. Theaker (clerk, Normanby Shire Council), Wm. J. Theaker, J. W. Theaker (chairman, Normanby Shire Council), Samuel A. Theaker, G. H. Theaker, B. J. Theaker, and A. E. Theaker, all of Mutdapilly- and one daughter - Mrs. Wm. Boyle, of Harrisville. There are also 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

May have arrived as a 15 year old on Mangerton Wednesday, 7 August 1861 a domestic from Limerick

The death occurred recently at Mutdapilly of Mrs. James Theaker, one of the oldest pioneers in that district, at the age of 80 years. She is survived by her husband and one daughter (Mrs. W. Boyle) and seven sons. The funeral, which was largely attended, took place to the Mutdapilly Cemetery. The Rev. T. Burgess (Harrisville) officiated.
