OBITUARY.-We have this week to record the death of Mr. William Marshall, senior, of the Well Station, South Toolburra. Mr. Marshall was a colonist of twenty-six years standing, and up to a few years ago was a well known Warwick figure. The old gentleman, who we believe was in his eighty-fifth year, was in his accustomed health at dinner time on, Saturday, and partook of a hearty meal; towards 5 o'clock, as was his wont, he set out upon a walk round the homestead, and half an hour later was found lying on the ground in a dying condition. Paralysis, from a stroke of which deceased suffered severely two years ago, was the immediate cause of death. Twenty years or so ago Mr. Marshall took a prominent part in local affairs, and for a term filled the position of mayor of the then recently proclaimed municipality of Warwick. He was a man very generally respected, but of course had long since been compelled by advancing years to withdraw from active life. The chief delight of his later days was to gather around him as many, of his children, grand-children, and great grand-children, (who number nearly 100) as could be got together and preside over these social reunions as the head of four generations. Mr. Marshall was a native of Kirkcaldy, Fifeshire, Scotland. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon and was numerously attended; the Rev. R. Fraser conducted the burial service.

ANOTHER OLD resident of this district has passed over to the great majority, viz., Mr. Wm. Marshall, who died suddenly at his son's residence, Well Station, Rosenthal, on Saturday afternoon last, at the age of 85. The old gentleman was in tolerably robust health for his advanced years, and went out, as was his custom, to have a walk round the homestead. He had not proceeded far when he was seized with an attack of paralysis, and was found about half an hour afterwards in a dying state, and shortly afterwards breathed his last. Mr. Marshall was an old Warwick resident, having been here nearly thirty years. He was one of the first lot of aldermen for Warwick, and was the third Mayor of the town, having filled the civic chairmanship during 1864-65. Mr. Marshall leaves a large family of children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, numbering about a hundred altogether, and it was the delight of his declining years to see them all gathered round him. The suddenness of his death, however, precluded any more than two or three being present. The funeral took place on Monday, and was numerously attended. Mr, Marshall was a native of Kirkcaldy, Fifeshire, Scotland.
