James ARTHUR
John`s future wife, Mary Reynolds DAVIE arrived on Torilla
Tuesday, 10 October 1911 with her parents and four siblings. Mary died in Rockhampton Monday, 13 June 1983 and her parents were Thomas Andrew DAVIE and Margaret McCUTCHEON
PART-DAVIE
A very pretty wedding was celebrated with Nuptial Mass at St Joseph's Cathedral at 8 o'clock yesterday morning, when Mary Reynolds, eldest daughter of Mr Thomas Davie, Blackall, and the late Mrs Thomas Davie, married John Richardson, only son of the late Mr and Mrs J. A. Part, Rockhampton. The Rev. Father Dolan was the officiating priest.
The bride was given away by Mr Brian Rutherford. Swiss broderis fashioned her very dainty and becoming frock, which featured a bustle back and a short train. Her only ornament was a necklet of blue rhinestones. Her short tulle veil was ornamented with lilies of the valley, and the same flowers composed the bouquet which she carried.
Miss Margaret (Peggy Davie), who was in attendance as bridesmaid, wore a frock or daffodil sheer georgette over taffeta, which contrasted prettily with the bride's frock. Her headdress was a swathed turban, and she carried a bouyuet of jonquils. Mr Maurice Lonergan was best man.
After the ceremony Miss Part, the bridegroom's sister, who wore a frock of printed Spring Song crepe with matching accessories, acted as hostess at an informal morning tea for the wedding party, which was held at Astley, Lennox Street.
When leaving for the honeymoon, to be spent at South Keppel Island, the bride wore a deep blue knitted frock, with a hat and accessories to match.
