OBITUARY Mr. John McGinn The death occurred in the Maleny Hospital on Monday evening of a very old and highly-esteemed resident of the Gheerulla district in the person of Mr. John McGinn. Born in County Down (Northern Ireland) 75 years ago, the late Mr. McGinn came to Australia when a young man and engaged in farming at Fernygrove. Nearly 50 years ago he arrived at Gheerulla and engaged in farming. He was one of the first shareholders in the Ca- boolture Co-operative Dairy Associa- tion, and for some years represented shareholders on the board of directors of the Kenilwonth Farmers' Cooper- ative Society. He was foremost in any movement for the welfare of the dis- trict, and was elected by the ratepay- ers of Division 1 to the Maroochy Shire Council. His wife predeceased him 32 years ago, but he leaves, be- sides two brothers, who reside in Brisbane, a family of two sons and four daughters— Messrs. Victor and Percy (Kenilworth), and Mesdames E. and A. A. Loweke (Kenilworth), J. Watt (Brisbane), and Miss R. McGinn (Kenilworth). The largely-attended funeral which moved from the Church of England, Gheerulla, to the Gheerulla cemetery, was a high tribute of the popularity of the deceased in the Kenilworth district.
