Late Mr. J. G. Dennlng.-The late Mr. J. G. Denning, who died in the Ipswich General Hospital on November 29, was born in Monmouthshire (Wales) in 1855. He came to Queensland with his parents when 11 years of age, in the sailing vessel "Netherby," which was wrecked on King Island. The passengers were on tihe island for 10 days, with very little food, as everything in the ship was lost. They were brought to Melbourne by gunboats, and on to Moreton Bay by "The City of Melbourne." Mr. Denning worked at Redbank, coal-mining with his father, who afterwards selected land at Glamorgan Vale. He was married to Miss Ellen Cutler at the age of 22 years, and they lived on the land. He was also interested in the sawmilling business at Lowood and Palen Creek. He retired and lived at Sandgate and then Manly with his wife, who died four years ago. Since then he lived with his niece, Mrs. Houston, at Glamorgan Vale.
