A wedding of interest to many residents of Queensland took place in the Gympie Church of England on October 10, when Mr Frederick Richard Olver (eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Olver, Traveston) was married to Miss Violet May Granlund (eldest daughter of Mrs. Granlund of Gympie and the late Mr. A Granlund). The Rev. A. W. Ethell officiated. The bride who was given away by Mr. E. Teague wore a long-sleeved gown of white crepe de Chine trimmed with radium lace and further adorned with rhinestones. Her embroidered tulle veil was worn in cap fashion and she carried a bouquet of arum liles. Miss Thelma Granlund (sister of the bride), as bridesmaid wore pink silk voile the bodice featuring a cowl neck. Her silk lace straw hat was trimmed to tone, and she carried a bouquet of pink roses. Mr. Edgar Teague was best man. After the ceremony the wedding breakfast took place at Orient House, the home of the bride's mother. Mrs. Granlund chose a blue lace frock with a hat to harmonise. The mother of the bridegroom wore silver brocade, relieved with pink georgette with her straw hat.
