MR. CHAS. STEEDMAN.

The death occurred at his home in Winton on Tuesday night of Mr. Charles Steedman in his 80th. year.
Deceased was born at Warsaw, Poland, and came to Australia as a boy. About 49 years ago, he married Miss Marcella Wilkinson at Clermont, and eventually, followed the railway line to Longreach where he. resided for many years, before transferring to Winton about 19 years ago, and where he has been living in retirement for several years.
He had been confined to his home by ill health for some time, and his death took place in his sleep. He was one of the best known and most reliable carriers on the roads when there were nothing but horse teams, and many fast trips were put up by his teams. His widow and 9 children survive him Mesdames A. Wixon and G; Wager (Longreach), R. Ford (Brisbane), W. Phillips (N.S.W.) and J. Irwin (Winton), and Messrs. Charles (Longreach), Eric and George (Winton) and Fred Steedman (Townsville). Rev. J. Roy officiated, at the burial on Thursday.
