George`s great great grand-daughter, Vicky TILBY (nee BOWSER) says in an email January 2012 that George arrived on the Bangalore after being given transportation for ten years in the Surrey court for stealing a handkerchief at the age of 21. According to Ancestry, George was convicted on 15th June, 1846.
