Sorensen - Cleland A Wedding of interest to Northern Queensland took place at Christ Church, Boonah, on January 26, when Miss Alice Violet Cleland (second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. G. Cleland, Gordonvale, North Queensland) was married to Mr. Walter Sorensen (Gordonvale). The Rev. Norman Michael officiated. Miss Cleland was formerly the conductress of the Gordonvale School Choir.
A blue brocaded matelasse gown, made with a cowl neckline and long sleeves, was worn by the bride, who was given away by her mother. She added a spray of orchids and a silver grey straw hat. Mrs. Michael (sister of bride), as matron of honour, wore a floral georgette frock with a navy hat.
Mr. M. H. Michael was best man. A reception was held at the rectory, and subsequently the couple left for Tasmania and New Zealand, where the honeymoon is being spent. Mrs. Sorensen chose a black Surah crepe travelling frock with a hat to match.
